Deformation of an elastic rectangular body in plane
strain
Overview. this 2D mechanical experiment displays an
uniaxial compression of an elastic body of 1X0.5 m. Shortening velocities are
1E-5 m/s on the left and right hand sides. Experiment duration is 3600 s. Model parameters are defined in files
iessai
and jessai .
Results. After 3600 seconds, the mesh (figure) is
deformed mainly near the boundary conditions due to the locking of the
tangential displacement. Results are also expressed in term of finite
displacement and deviatoric stress intensity (figure).
